About the archive
A historical record built to be accurate, transparent and easy to cite.
LTTE Archive documents the history of the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam — how the organisation was formed, the violence it carried out against civilians, the propaganda and networks that sustained it, and how it came to an end in 2009.
The victims of that violence came from every community in Sri Lanka: Sinhalese, Tamil and Muslim. This archive is written in their memory.
Why evidence comes first
The archive's credibility depends on accurate sourcing, careful language and visible corrections. Each record labels the strength of its evidence and cites sources beside the claims they support, so that readers can verify what they read and the evidence can speak for itself.
